FAQs

Are Children Invited?
To give all our guests the opportunity to celebrate (and an official night out for parents) without having to worry about little eyes, ears, and bedtimes, this will be an adults only, 21+ event.

Should I Rent a Car?
We do not recommend rental cars. We exclusively use Uber/Lyfts or walk in order to get around (we don’t own a car here)! Cars in the city are a larger inconvenience than they are handy due to parking in general and overnight parking.

Nearby Airports
There are 2 airports you can fly into, Midway International (MDW) and O’Hare International (ORD). Both are nearly equidistant from the wedding venue. Midway is smaller and easier to get in and out of. However, we almost exclusively fly in and out of O’hare because given the size of the airport, there are more flight options and they tend to be cheaper.

Pro Tip: If you’re flying into O’Hare, try to get a flight that touches down before 3PM or after 6PM. This will help ensure you’re not coming  into the city when traffic is at its worst.

Distance from airports to the venue:
O'hare: ~ 16mi away from event venue. Approx 25min drive with no traffic and up to 1.25 hrs with traffic.
Midway: ~12mi away from event venue. Approx 20min drive with no traffic and up to 1hr with traffic.

How Safe is Chicago?
Our home and wedding, which are across the street from each other, are located in the safest part of downtown Chicago! This area is called River North/The Loop. These are heavy tourist areas so the city has constant patrol in these areas, including patrol on foot. You can feel comfortable and safe walking around and exploring, even in the evening.

Where Should I Stay?

We have a hotel/room block at the Westin which is right next to the venue! If you’d prefer to stay elsewhere, there are many options in the River North/The Loop area. Please go to our Travel, Hotels and Adventure Page to book a room in the block and find information on alternative accommodations.

What Should I Wear?

Black Tie Optional:

Men: Black, grey or navy blue suits with bow tie or tie; tuxedos welcome but not required.

Women: Tea, floor length gown or pantsuit; black, shades of grey or navy blue encouraged.

Will the Ceremony/Reception be Indoors or Outdoors?

Both the ceremony and reception will be indoors in a comfortable, air-conditioned space. Guests will also have access to a beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking the river to enjoy the fresh air.

What Will the Weather be Like?

The average temperature in Chicago on August 29 is 72°F, with a high of 80.8°F. We recommend checking the weather apps for the most up-to-date forecast!
